meet Jay

Meet my new friend Jay and his pug, Verne. The lovely Miss Heather is a mutual friend and e-introduced us.

Jay took me on a whirlwind tour of Philly. This guy knows his stuff.

This is Tartes, a hole-in-the-wall bakery, plonked on a busy road in Olde City.

It is run by Teresa Wall — any relation? Jay had a lemon slice, I had a keylime pie. It was so rich I had to eat it in two sittings.

Can you imagine what this would have been like with crazy wallpaper in every room? I think it's somewhere in Northern Liberties, near to Chinatown. Maybe.

Going through some of the seedier parts of town, Jay shows his outrage of the littering.

The area might be dodgy, but the architecture so pretty. I tried to be discrete, but it's not one of my finer points. (umm, somewhere over University City way?)

Screw discretion, they're wearing matching muppets pyjamas! Only in America, people.
